Be a Part of Florida Philanthropic Network
Florida Philanthropic Network is a statewide
association of grantmakers working to strengthen philanthropy
through research, education and public policy.
FPN's members are private independent,
corporate and family foundations, community foundations, public
charity grantmakers and corporate giving programs
- from Miami to Jacksonville; Naples to
Pensacola - who
hold over $6.5 billion in assets and invest over $430 million annually
(excluding members located outside Florida) to improve the quality of life for our citizens. Our members
vary widely in size, type, years of existence and program interests,
but they all share a commitment to building philanthropy to build a
better Florida. FPN is the only funder network that serves the entire state of Florida and only the state of Florida.
FPN Members' Boards & Staffs Benefit From:
Education & Skill-Building to Enhance Your Effectiveness
We deliver regional and statewide education opportunities where members learn useful ideas and effective practices on a variety of topics and interest areas.
FPN offers opportunities for members to participate in regular
teleconferences, webinars, in-person meetings and regional
programming to help you develop key skills and learn from regional and national experts in the field. Annually, we host a statewide philanthropy conference.
Networking to Learn From Others
Building relationships with colleagues is consistently referred to by our members as one of the most valuable benefits of
FPN membership. We serve as a vibrant hub for grantmakers who share a commitment to effective grantmaking in Florida. Members have a variety of ongoing opportunities
to connect with, and learn from, other grantmakers facing similar issues, experiences and challenges, and to be in touch with other types of philanthropic organizations working to make a difference here at home. We operate various affinity groups based on funding interests and
job responsibilities that are only available to boards and staffs of
FPN member organizations.
News & Information to Keep You Up-to-Date
All FPN members receive our monthly member e-newsletter featuring the latest local and national news affecting the sector, alerts, tools, trends, research and information. Through our Web site, we offer a repository of news, information, job opportunities, publications, research and tools.
Advocacy to Represent Your Interests
We provide a unified voice to strengthen and protect philanthropy, representing members’ interests with elected officials, the media and the general public. We communicate the important role of foundations by supporting key legislation, gaining positive media coverage, meeting with state policymakers and elected and appointed officials, connecting with Florida’s congressional delegation and much more. You can lend your voice to this platform and benefit from our advocacy on behalf of all foundations.
Research to Inform Your Work
We commission unbiased research and data on Florida’s independent sector to help inform discussion and provide a meaningful resource to support your work. Florida Philanthropic Network has commissioned research on issues affecting the nonprofit sector and charitable giving trends in our state with partners such as the Urban Institute, Public Sector Consultants, and Johns Hopkins University Center for Civil Society.
Leadership to Strengthen Philanthropy
Membership in the Network makes you part of a leadership organization dedicated to strengthening philanthropy. Through our statewide and national partnerships,
FPN joins with leaders in the field to create a strong, vibrant, nonprofit sector to improve the quality of life for all Floridians.
