ADVOCACY WITH POLICYMAKERS
In order to promote a legislative and regulatory environment that encourages effective philanthropy, Partners attend Foundations on the Hill annually in Washington, DC to meet with our Congressional Delegation.  We also gather in Tallahassee to meet with state policy makers, elected and appointed officials.  During recess, we meet with our local officials.

RESEARCH
Commissioning unbiased research and data on Florida’s independent sector to help inform discussion and provide a meaningful resource is a core value of the Network. Florida Philanthropic Network has commissioned four separate pieces of research on issues affecting the nonprofit sector and charitable giving trends in our state, with partners such as the Urban Institute, Public Sector Consultants, and Johns Hopkins University Center for Civil Society.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Partners gather for regional and statewide educational and professional development opportunities on a variety of topics and interest areas including effective advocacy, collaboration, education, health care, and Florida’s state budget. Through associate organizations, the Network also offers opportunities for Partners to participate in special teleconferences and webinars on topics such as grantee evaluation, self-dealing, accountability and demonstrating impact. Annually, the Network hosts a statewide philanthropic conference.

NEWS AND INFORMATION
All Partners receive a monthly e-newsletter featuring relevant local and national news affecting the sector, alerts, tools, trends, research and information. Through our Website, www.fpnetwork.org, we offer a repository of news, information, opportunities, publications, research, and tools.

NETWORKING
Building relationships with colleagues is consistently referred to by our Partners as one of the most valuable benefits of the Network. In addition to our annual conference, we provide a variety of peer-to-peer exchange opportunities for all Partners, and specific groups of Partners who share common interests, through formal and informal events.

PARTNERING FOR A STRONGER NONPROFIT SECTOR
Through our strategic statewide and national partnerships, the Network joins with others to create a strong, vibrant, nonprofit sector to improve the quality of life for all Floridians.

You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late.
