Please join us for FPN's inaugural Florida Corporate Grantmakers Call, a
bimonthly information-sharing and networking teleconference for FPN
members involved in corporate giving and related areas of community
affairs and corporate social responsibility.
On this call, Nancy Gidusko from
Walt Disney World Resort and Connie Smith from
Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company will provide an overview of
their corporate philanthropy strategies and activities in Florida -
what they fund, how they fund, their overall goals, etc. There
will be plenty of time for Q&A and informal discussion.
About the Presenters
Nancy Gidusko is Director,
Community Relations for Walt Disney World Resort, a position she has
held since December 2008. She previously served as the company’s
Director-Minority Business Development and prior to that spent seven
years as Director of Internal Communications. A 34-year Disney
veteran, Nancy held began her career with the company in a
communications role in 1986 as part of the Walt Disney World Resorts
Division, and held various positions in the company in the areas of
communications and human resources. Among her many community
involvements, Nancy serves on the board of directors of the Hispanic
Business Initiative Fund.
Connie E. W. Smith
has worked with Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Company since 1995. In
her role as Vice President, Community Affairs Manager, she is
responsible for the company’s philanthropy in Florida. She was
named a Jacksonville Business Journal Woman of Influence in 2010,
and serves on the board of directors of the Nonprofit Center of
Northeast Florida. Other community involvement includes her
participation with Project Breakthrough-Changing the Story of Race
in Jacksonville, serving as an Elder for South Jacksonville
Presbyterian Church and serving as a member of Florida Philanthropic
Network’s Gulf Oil Spill Task Force. Connie holds a B.A. in
Economics and Fine Arts from Vanderbilt University.
