Volunteer service is on the rise and is placing increasing demands on nonprofits to fully utilize this incredible resource.  At the same time, funders are beginning to see service itself as a solution to many issues facing at-risk communities.  This teleconference will explore how funders can help their grantees and other nonprofits build their capacity to maximize the use of volunteers.  Speakers include Julie Fisher Cummings, managing trustee of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, and Kara Carlisle, Kellogg Foundation program officer and close member of the Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement funders affinity group.

You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late.
