"The Disposition of Federal Dollars in Florida’s Social Services: Informing a Federal Funding Maximization Strategy"
The Urban Institute, based in Washington, D.C., examined 11 Florida programs to determine how well the fourth most populous state with the highest concentration of elderly residents was using federal dollars in social-service programs during the past decade. The report includes: demographics, fiscal and political context and a snapshot of Florida revenue and expenditures.

"Economic Contribution of Florida Nonprofit Organizations: A Resource for the Public Good"
This report, prepared by Public Sector Consultants, documents the impact of Florida nonprofit sector. Statistics include the number of nonprofits, jobs provided, assets and annual income, which exceeded $43 billion in 1997, as reported by the IRS. The report makes several recommendations, including the the importance of educating nonprofit organizations and opinion leaders alike.
