The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has elected four new officers and five new members to its Board of Trustees. Officers are: Donna L. Longhouse, chairwoman. Betty Castor, chairwoman-elect. Susanna Grady, secretary. Bob Mohr, treasurer.
The United Way of Pasco County is looking for a new leader after president/CEO Duggan Cooley accepted the job as executive director of the Pinellas Community Foundation. Cooley replaces Julie Scales, executive director of the Pinellas foundation since 2003, who announced her retirement in December 2015. Cooley was selected after a nearly yearlong national search that drew about 50 applicants.

Charlotte Community Foundation Inc. has announced that Tami Sender will join the organization as CEO, effective Oct. 3. Ms. Sender, 54, has a notable 30-year track record in the nonprofit arena. During her nine-year tenure as the president and CEO of the Greater Joliet (Ill) Area YMCA, she led two successful capital campaigns raising $11.3 million, and oversaw construction of a 78,000-square-foot facility, among other key accomplishments. She also served as director of development for a parks foundation, where she oversaw a $1.7 million capital campaign, and secured more than $365,000 in key grant funding.

The Governor and Cabinet of the State of Florida have passed a resolution honoring Florida's community foundations for "their service to communities all across the state."
On March 31, 2014, FPN sent a letter to Senator Bill Nelson urging him to extend the IRA Charitable Rollover provision through 2014, and to end the prohibition for Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) in the IRA Rollover. The letter was signed by the chief executives of 24 Florida community Foundations.
