Fair Redistricting Funder Briefing

  • Wednesday, April 28, 2021
  • 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM
  • Virtual Meeting

Building on the philanthropic sector’s work to support an accurate census, many foundations and other donors have turned their attention to promoting fair and equitable redistricting – a key component for fair representation in our democracy. Philanthropic involvement is critical for nonpartisan community-centered redistricting efforts.

The Bauman Foundation and Ford Foundation co-chair a funder collaborative on redistricting, called Fair Representation in Redistricting (FRR). FRR has been hosting virtual quarterly briefings for funders to explain work that is happening under the FRR initiative and to encourage collaboration.

This briefing is for funders and philanthropy serving organizations interested in learning about nonpartisan redistricting efforts supported by the funder collaborative, which has a focus of equity issues. The briefing will preview the first phase of new messaging research and implications of the findings for redistricting. Funders will describe how they are working with nonprofits and other funders in their regions and will spotlight the challenges and opportunities of redistricting in the South. Finally, we’ll share resources available to funders seeking to learn more and/or get further involved.

We hope you can join us for this briefing on April 28, which the Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation is helping to organize for us.

You can register here for the quarterly funder briefing.

This briefing is for funders and philanthropic serving organizations only. Once registered, you will receive a link to the meeting via email.
