Our fall EAG meeting will provide a unique opportunity for funders to engage with one another in discussing and learning about Florida’s Early Learning Policy Landscape in a discussion led by Matt Guse, CEO, Florida Children’s Council. Mr. Guse will be sharing his insights into the early learning policy landscape and his recommendations for action. He will be sharing the Florida Children’s Council’s Policy Platform, addressing in detail topics including school and kindergarten readiness, summer learning, and work on attendance.
Attendees will also engage with Katie Crofott, Director of Partnership Engagement, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, on the state’s new Talent Development Council, which was created during the last legislative session to replace the Higher Education Coordinating Council (HECC). Ms. Crofott will be discussing the new body's focus and how it will differ from the HECC. Funders will be encouraged to provide their input in the process and to learn how they may interact with the Council.
There will also be a discussion of what to expect during the upcoming legislative session and how funders can be involved. Register now to reserve your spot!

EAG offers Florida's education funders a space to learn from each other, work together to improve the state's education outcomes and be a voice for Florida philanthropy on key education policy issues. Any FPN member with an interest in education is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting regardless of prior EAG involvement.
