One organization, however, is not only working collectively with key stakeholders, they are seeing results in their work because of this approach.
CareerEdge Funders Collaborative offers a leading edge approach to workforce development by working with funders, industry partners and individual in the community by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships. Mireya Eavey will talk about how this organization started and speak to the results they have seen using a more collaborative approach to helping people in the community.

About the presenter
As the Sarasota Area President of Florida’s United Way Suncoast, Mireya Eavey creates long-term community economic development strategies designed to break the cycle of generational poverty and help children and families succeed. Ms. Eavey’s contributions encompass empowerment at the individual level, with programs that support people through education, skills training, employment and financial education, to advocacy for families and communities and crafting public policy to benefit the wider community.
In addition to her role with United Way Suncoast, Mireya is the Executive Director of CareerEdge Funders Collaborative, an organization that connects funders, educators, employers and community-based organizations to educate, train, employ and promote employees. Ms. Eavey leads CareerEdge’s mission to provide an exceptional labor force for growing industries by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships. She plays a critical role in engaging the workforce and its employers to create better future opportunities for those currently employed and those moving into various workforce sectors.
Mireya holds an MBA from Argosy University with a concentration in Sustainable Systems, and a BA in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
