FCYO is excited to hold it's third regional briefing on June 4, 2019 in Atlanta, GA. FCYO, in collaboration with Grantmakers for Southern Progress, The Highlander Research and Education Center, Project South, The Southeastern Council of Foundations, Southern Echo, Inc., Southern Vision Alliance and The United Way of Greater Atlanta will convene local, regional and national funders to engage with other funders and with youth leaders to discuss how to support young people as drivers of community change across the South.
FCYO advances a strong and well-resourced youth organizing field that is aligned around strategies for building power and supports young people to play leading roles in broad based alliances for a just and equitable society.
FCYO is hosting a funder briefing in Atlanta, GA on June 4 from 10am-5pm, Youth Organizing in the South: A New Generation Driving Community Change. This is the third in a series of regional briefings FCYO is holding across the country, with the goal of bringing together regionally-focused and national funders to share learnings, build relationships and align strategies to support youth-led work.
The agenda is shaping up to be very exciting, and will include research on youth organizing’s impact, discussions with young leaders from across the South about how they are advancing equity and justice, and opportunities to strategize with local national funders around sustainable support in both urban and rural areas in the South.
