Position Summary 

The Vice President of Philanthropy will lead, manage, and be accountable for the annual plan for business revenue, growth of assets, and fund holder satisfaction. This includes cultivating and successfully bringing in new fund holders; nurturing and increasing the number of professional advisors who regularly refer donors to the Central Florida Foundation and, through quality service to existing and prospective charitable investors, increase gifts, both current and planned to existing Funds at the Foundation. The position will be responsible for asset development and external leadership of the Foundation’s family philanthropy initiative and will work with the executive team to reach the Foundation’s aggressive goal to grow its assets to more than $100 million by 2022. The Vice President of Philanthropy will also oversee marketing and communications for the Foundation and must be capable of being a spokesperson externally for the work of the Central Florida Foundation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the design and execution of the Foundation’s marketing and external development plan including business development and philanthropy strategies
  • Manage relationships with fund holders, prospective fund holders, and professional advisors
  • Oversee the Foundation’s Family Philanthropy initiative, including professional planned giving support to establish Funds at the Central Florida Foundation
  • Implement specific strategies with the President/CEO to raise funds for Foundation initiatives
  • Supervise Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Provide professional support, and work closely, with the chairs of all Foundation committees and Advisory Boards; and specific staffing for the
  • Board, Gift Acceptance Committee, and professional advisors network
  • Serve as representative for community collaborations as assigned by the President/CEO
  • Assist President/CEO and executive team with Foundation strategy


Graduate degree and/or five to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
