Efforts to make Sarasota Age friendly takes a step forward

June 08, 2017

An action plan to help improve the quality of life for Suncoast residents is now complete. The effort is called Age Friendly Sarasota and its goal is to promote a community that benefits people of all ages.

For the past two years, The Patterson Foundation has been trying to figure out exactly what the community wants. And after more than 1,200 comments, the draft of the Age Friendly Sarasota action plan has been released. It addresses concerns in eight categories. One of them focuses on increasing accessibility of outdoor space for people with varying abilities.
