Florida gets low marks for women's health, exposure to violence

A new report finds that Florida women are suffering growing rates of suicide, chronic disease and abuse, a problem made worse by gaps in insurance coverage and poverty in certain communities. 

One major factor driving Florida's lackluster performance, according to “The Status of Women in Florida by County” report: The state's refusal to expand Medicaid eligibility as envisioned by the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
