This project is looking for a clean, vibrant design that celebrates inclusivity and diversity--and integrates elements representative of the South Florida LGBTQ+ community. The project "The Murals at Equality Park" as public art should reflect Broward’s commitment as a welcoming and inclusive community, complement the character of the building and inspire social interaction.
This endeavor represents a big, bold, creative arts project. We envision 2,900 square feet of new, creative public art—bold, emotive murals in the heart of Broward County. The mural designs will be printed directly onto Dibbon metallic panels and attached to the exteriors of 1,535 square feet of The Residences at Equality Park and 1,245 square feet of The Pride Center’s existing Schubert Building.
Funded by the Community Foundation of Broward, the selected artist will earn $5,000 to design and execute the project.
The deadline for project submissions by professional and emerging adult artists is June 15.
