New program aims to inspire, educate local students about protecting the Everglades

December 15, 2017

The program, which started this year, is a hands-on water conservation program designed to educate middle and high school students in Palm Beach County. It's based on a community partnership between Mounts Botanical Garden, the Palm Beach Soil and Water District, and the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge Center.

"The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties funded very generously a two-year grant to support this program," she said. "The first year, which is this year, we will be working with 600 middle school students and next year, we will be following it up with 600 high school students."
