Manatee Community Foundation awards grants to local groups

At its annual Spring Grant Reception earlier this week, Manatee Community Foundation awarded more than $148,000 to 43 local organizations including Felts Audubon Preserve, Turning Points, Manatee Library Foundation, Anna Maria Island Community Center and United Way of Manatee County.

Helios Education Foundation's Creating Opportunities for Success – 2015 Annual Report celebrates the success of students impacted through initiatives in Arizona and Florida. Helios invested nearly $12 million in programs impacting education, including supporting the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities to create a unique collaboration among the University of South Florida, University of Central Florida and Florida International University that will impact thousands of first-generation, minority and underrepresented students in Florida's three largest metropolitan areas. ‪

Organizations collaborate to stock food pantry shelves for summer

Schulze Family Foundation are partnering to help stock the shelves of Collier County food pantries for the lean days of summer. Bring non-perishable food items to the newspaper's themed events each Friday through June 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

FPN's affinity group Florida Women's Funding Alliance (FWFA)launched a major project, commissioning the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) to conduct a groundbreaking study on the Status of Women in Florida by County. This work will position FWFA to develop actionable policy recommendations as well as educate our colleagues about the need to focus enhanced resources to shift Florida's grade of D+ to an A relative to the status of women in our state. Dr. Stacy Carlson appointed President & CEO of Florida Philanthropic Network

Florida Philanthropic Network board of directors has announced the appointment of its next President & CEO Stacy Carlson, Ph.D. Carlson was selected after a comprehensive national search led by FPN’s executive search committee along with talent management consultancy Career Partners International. She will assume responsibilities April 11.
