The group also welcomed new team members Sandi Scannelli, president and CEO of Community Foundation for Brevard, and Bradley Hurlburt, president and CEO of Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

TAMPA, Fla. – In response to Florida’s D+ rating on the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) 2015 report, the Florida Women's Funding Alliance (FWFA) is commissioning a groundbreaking study of women in Florida by county. FWFA, an affinity group of Florida Philanthropic Network (FPN), will look deeper into key areas – population and diversity, poverty and opportunity, health and well-being, and employment and earnings – to develop actionable policy recommendations to shift that D+ to an A for Florida women.

FPN's board of directors has been hard at work planning for the successful transition to FPN's next President & CEO, following the announcement last month that FPN's current President & CEO, David Biemesdefer, will be leaving at the end of the year. The board has appointed Bill Hoffman to be FPN's Interim President & CEO, starting on January 4, 2016.
Just now, the Senate voted to pass the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act making the IRA Charitable Rollover permanent law.
The bill, which passed the House yesterday, also makes permanent the enhanced deductions for conservation easement and food inventory contributions.
Giving by Florida’s foundations reached a record-high $1.5 billion in 2013, increasing 15 percent from the previous year and 50 percent over a 10-year period, according to a new report by Florida Philanthropic Network, Florida’s statewide association of grantmakers. When adding in giving by individual Floridians, charitable giving in Florida totaled $16.3 billion.
The deadline for comments on an IRS reporting proposal threatening nonprofit and donor security is December 16. The new, voluntary reporting method calls on nonprofits to collect, store, and report donors’ Social Security numbers, along with the amount of donations and other information. What can you do?
