Supporting education issues, Organizations & needs in Florida

Join us as we deep dive into Florida’s new K-12 student assessments, the “Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST)”.  We will learn details of how they’re administered, plans for establishing cut scores (an opportunity for funders to provide input), as well as plans for how results of the assessments will be used (e.g. in school and district grades).

During the meeting our lobbyists will also provide insights into this year’s legislative session including leadership’s priorities and education legislation being developed for the 2023 session.  As always, there will be opportunities to get all your questions answered as well as for interaction with fellow education funders.

Meeting Objectives:

  • Learn about new student assessments structured on B.E.S.T. standards including logistics of testing; cut score establishment; school & district grading, and comparison to prior assessments.
  • Understand educational legislative priorities and early education bills.
  • Network and discuss 2023 plans for group.
