Join fellow FPN members for a preview of the upcoming Florida Legislative Session with a focus on proposed legislation which will impact focus areas of FPN's member networks (Florida Education Funders, Florida Health Funders, Florida Environmental Resiliency Network and Civic Engagement Member Network) as well as legislation which may impact the philanthropic sector.

We will also cover what will be the main themes of session; property tax reform and redistricting and have time for Q&A.

Matthew Herndon

Director of Government & Community Affairs

After working in the Florida House of Representatives for over ten years, Matt Herndon is a seasoned legislative staffer and brings a wealth of expertise to the RSA team. Over the years, Matt’s work on countless pieces of legislation has spanned across almost every industry, and his experience drafting, submitting, analyzing, and researching legislation allows Matt to successfully navigate the political process and deliver results for clients.

A resident of St. Petersburg, Matt maintains close relationships with the Pinellas County Delegation as well as local and federal policymakers. In his role at RSA, Matt works on policies such as affordable housing, workforce and early education, and food insecurity.

Matt received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida, and a Masters in Public Administration at the University of Central Florida, alongside a graduate certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
